PERSIMMON COOKIES

½ CUP SHORTENING
1 CUP SUGAR
1 EGG
¼ TEASPOON ORANGE EXTRACT
¼ TEASPOON NUTMEG
1 CUP PERSIMMON PULP
2 CUPS FLOUR
2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
1 TEASPOON SODA
¼ TEASPOON SALT
1 CUP RAISINS
1 CUP NUTS

MIX TOGETHER IN ABOVE ORDER, THEN MIX DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER BEFORE ADDING.

BAKE AT 350 DEGREES ABOUT 12 TO 15 MINUTES

After the cookies have cooled, ice with butter icing but substitute orange flavoring instead of vanilla flavoring.

HERBED PRETZEL RECIPE

2 pkgs Mike Sells Dutch Pretzels (break into small pieces)
1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing (dry powder)
1 Tbls garlic powder
1 bottle Orville Redenbacher popcorn oil

Mix and turn pretzels over and over to coat with mix.
Bake 2 hours in 250 degrees oven, stirring mix every 1/2 hour.
Cool and store in air tight container.
